Happy 4th of July!

Celebrate with a slice of Americana! Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang Band salute the 4th with a refrain from John Phillip Sousa's rousing 1896 "Stars and Stripes Forever".  Then quickly they launch into "The Yankee Doodle Boy" with "hoofer" Snoopy's performance reminiscent of James Cagney's portrayal of George M. Cohan in the 1942 biopic "Yankee Doodle Dandy".  While delightful for starting the holiday, Snoopy can't top Cagney's tap down the White House open spiral staircase after receiving the Congressional Gold Medal from the President. Cagney conceived the idea prior to filming. Without rehearsal, Cagney and camera capture it in one take!

Enjoy your "one take" with family and friends this 4th!  Have a safe one!
